BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service (CS)

This 6 week programme is for anyone who wants to pursue a career or role in customer service. It provides you with a mixture of general and work-specific skills and knowledge in the area of professional customer care, and leads to a nationally recognised qualification. The programme has three modules:

Understanding good customer service: Understanding the characteristics of customers and their expectations, how good customer service is delivered in organisations, practices and procedures, relevant legislation and regulations

Delivering effective customer service: Learn how to deliver good customer service, how to behave towards customers and how to deal with customers’ queries, requests and problems

Planning for self development in customer service: How to improve personal performance and carry on developing your customer service skills

Contact Centre Skills (CCS)

This 6 - 8 week programme is for anyone who wants to pursue a career or role in customer service – particularly in roles where you need to project a professional image face-to-face and on the phone. It is particularly relevant for people who want to work in call centres or customer contact centres

The course provides you with a mixture of general and work-specific skills and knowledge in the area of professional customer service and leads to a nationally recognised qualification. The programme has 5 modules:

Understanding Customer Service: Successful customer service by telephone, providing and receiving information, identifying customer needs

Communicating with Customers: Using telecoms equipment within a call handling environment, complying with contact centre procedures and helping with the effective flow of work

Contribute to a Safe and Effective Working Environment: Health and safety in the workplace, performance and quality standards in the call handling environment, building effective working relationships

Using Computer Applications to Handle Calls: Using software applications and stems in a call centre environment , security an d confidentiality issues

Emergency Services: The appropriate skills and procedures required for dealing with emergency calls

An optional module for people wanting to pursue a career within the bus industry:

Introduction to Bus Industry: Introduction to the Bus Industry in London, the role of Quality of Service Indicators (QSI) and Quality Incentive Contracts (QIC)
